I love the way Dave Shea incorporates photos into the design of his personal blog, Mezzoblue. Every year he breaks down his posts into several collections, magazine style.
Each collection uses a color scheme from taken from the header photo, which themselves are great. Even if you are not interested in the finer points of web design, his site is worth following just for the aesthetics. Check it out.
