Great Moments by Design - Dropbox
I’ve been using Dropbox for the past few weeks now, and I’ve been pleased with its functionality. It feels almost as if there is no feature to praise about this app though—most of the time you don’t even notice it’s there.
It’s this tight integration with the operating system that makes this a great moment by design. Dropbox acts like another folder on your Mac—drag and drop or copy files to the Dropbox folder and it appears to behave just like any other. But your files are actually uploaded to your Dropbox storage somewhere out there in the interweb. It’s super fast too—fast enough to not notice, as I mentioned above.
Behind the scenes there might be multiple features making all this happen, but I think it’s the overall effect that makes this application worthy of the label ‘great design’.
