Make It A Habit

Great Moments by Design - Leopard To-Do

With the update to Things last week, I have to use this week’s great moment to applaud Apple. The changes they made to the underlying To-dos for iCal in Leopard have made task management so much more enjoyable for users.

Not only do Apple’s own applications work seamlessly together with To-dos, but the system-wide access to these tasks has allowed third party developers to create wonderful tools that can work with this data. Using Things as an example, users can now use their favorite task management software to interface with Mail and iCal. And there are a lot of nice, smaller utilities to view this same information—see Today and Anxiety.

It’s great to see this data across multiple applications. Here is how my day looks in Things, iCal and Anxiety:

Making this data widely available and usable has given us users even better options. This is good design and forward thinking—no matter your workflow, you should be able to find a tool that fits for you.
