Make It A Habit

Bloggers Dropping Everywhere

This article is a couple days old now, so based on what it says, you, the reader, will not care about my comments because you’ve read it somewhere else first.

Kidding aside, I enjoyed this article as it provoked a lot of thought. Here are some of mine:

  1. This aspect of the world of blogging seems no different to me than newspaper or television news over the past 20 years. It has always been a race to break a story first. The only difference now is that more people can get involved.
  2. News often tends to be sensationalistic. I think this article somewhat falls under that category. Only a portion of bloggers are represented. What about the writers who do so because the like it or care about their subject? Sure we probably would all love to get paid for it, but it’s not always the primary motivator.
  3. The entire premise of the article is a bit off focus. Our entire lifestyle has become very unhealthy. Isolating young people who blog is ignoring this fact. There are plenty of folks spending too much time in front of a computer who do not blog at all (programmers, designers, WoW etc.)

My favorite line in the article:

“I’ve got a background getting punched in the face,” he said. “That’s why I’m good at this job.”

Now that’s what I signed up for!
