Since I’m on the topic of notebooks today, I thought I would pass on my thoughts about Rhodia notebooks.

Like Moleskine, Rhodia has a fairly dedicated following. People who use these notebooks seem to really enjoy them and encourage others to give them a try. Recently interviewed Dezene Huber is one of such, and it was on his recommendation that I picked one up.

I chose one of the large wire-bound, reporter-style pads. It is now my primary writing tool at my desk. I love this product. LOVE it.

The larger size notebook is perfect for working at the desk, allowing me to jot down a quick map of the day/week at the top, while still leaving a lot of room for work space/notes at the bottom. And while that is not a feature exclusive to Rhodia—most notebook makers have various sizes available—it is a part of the reason I love this purchase.

What does set it apart is the quality of the paper. I find it much nicer than what Moleskine offers. I again went with grid paper, same as my Moleskines, but the paper is much smoother and all my gel pens dry quite nicely on it.

As well, the wire binding is a lot sturdier than what you would find on cheaper notebooks.

Overall, it’s a very good product. I’m confident the rest of their lineup is of similar quality.

Next on the list is the Levenger line. Unfortunately, these do not seem to be available anywhere in town so it may be a while before I get to check them out.
